Linux operating systems have many advantages when compared to Windows. Better security, more features, better speed, absolutely free and so many more. With Linux in your system, you can bid farewell to viruses, Trojans, worms, spyware and adware. So I’d prefer Linux to any other operating systems any day. Also if your Windows has crashed, and you haven’t made a backup of your important files, you can install Linux alongside and get these files (Always make a backup of your important files please). To make a bootable flash drive to run Linux, just perform the following steps:

Creating a bootable Linux flash drive is piece of cake with a utility called UNetbootin. After downloading the utility, all you have to do is select the Linux distribution you want to make a bootable flash drive with. You have a veriety of distributions to choose from : Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Puppy Linux, Damn Small Linux and so on. If you’re new to Linux, its preferable to choose Ubuntu. The utility automatically downloads the iso file of the distribution you selected and loads into the flash drive location you have specified. But if you already have the ISO image downloaded, you just have to select that ISO image.
And presto, you have made your flash drive Linux bootable. All you have to do is reboot your system with the flash drive attached to the computer and also the system should be made bootable from USB drive. You can do this by changing your BIOS settings. Linux should load after you have performed all these operations.
This is all you have to know in making a bootable Linux flash drive. I hope you found this information useful. Leave a comment below, if you have any doubt that needs clarification.
