How to Root Moto Droid Maxx / Ultra / Mini

    Motorola introduced the droid devices in which showcased many useful high end features and fits into a medium budget. This tutorial provides you with steps required to root moto droid devices irrespective of the carriers to which they are locked into. You have to install fastboot and adb drivers on your pc to continue with this tutorial. If this is not installed you can follow our tutorial on installing adb drivers. Note that this tutorial is only for Moto Droid Maxx / Ultra / Mini devices. If you try this with any other device it may result in bricking your device. Also if you don’t know what “Bricked devices” mean, this tutorial may not be for you. You can read our post Android rooting- must knows.

    Now, having taken care of all the prerequisites you can finally start having some fun rooting your device. Follow the steps carefully or you may end up messing things up.

WARNING: Rooting may result in bricked devices. I will not be responsible for any damage to your device caused from rooting. Do it at Your Own Risk

Steps for Rooting:

1. Download the PwnMyMoto app from here 
2. Open command prompt on your pc (press windows key+R and type cmd in the window)
3. Connect your device to pc. Make sure that you have enabled developer options on your       device (you can also try to install the apk directly from your phone.This may not work in         most of the cases as the antivirus softwares and play services treat the app as a virus)
4. Type in the following command on the command prompt window:
    adb install -r PwnMyMoto-1.4.3-Droid.apk
5. Run the app on your device.
6. Install SuperSU from the Play Store.
7. Tap on the ‘Setup’ button and after your phone reboots normally, it will be rooted.
8. To check, download the root checker app from play store and click 'verify root'.





    You have now rooted your phone. Now you can install various root apps, overclock your device and do many other things to bring out the full power of your device.
