How to Install adb and FastBoot Drivers On Windows

How to Install adb and FastBoot Drivers On Windows

    You may have come across the terms adb drivers and fastboot when you tried to root your device.These are drivers which are required to control your android device from your pc. Here we are providing you 2 ways to install, one of the most important tools for android development in your pc, running windows 7 or above(I have not tried windows xp. It also should work fine).

    There are 2 methods given here. First one is the easiest and fastest. It is recommended for most of the users.If the first method didn’t go well then you can try the second.

Note: This tutorial is for windows 7 and above( Must work on XP as well )

Easiest Method:

1. Download the adb Installer file from here.
2. Right-click on the downloaded file and choose “Run as Administrator“.
3. Type “Y” and press Enter to install adb and Fastboot.
4. Enter “Y” to install the drivers for your device. Enter “N” to skip this if you have already           installed the drivers for your device.
5. Wait till the installation is finished.
6. Enable the USB debugging on your device
7. Connect your device using its USB cable.
8. Open command prompt on pc and type “adb devices”.
9. Installation is successful if your device is listed under connected devices.

Alternative method:


1. Download the package from here

    (The tools found in the download are provided by Google, found in Android SDK. You can      get the tools also by downloading the Whole sdk) and save the file on the desktop.
2. Extract the file directly to the root of the C drive. (the path will be like ” C:\Android ”)
3. Up next, on your computer click on “Start / Windows button -> Control Panel -> System         properties”.
4. Choose “Advanced” tab followed by “Environment Variables”.
5. scroll down until you see “Path” – click on the same.
6. Into the Value field, on the end of the line add the following “;C:\android-sdk-                         windows\platform-tools;C:\android-sdk-windows\tools”.
7. Click “OK” and exit.
8. Enable the USB debugging on your device
9. Connect your device using its USB cable.Open command prompt on pc and type 
    “adb devices”.
10. In the window your device will be listed under connected devices.
