
The Samsung Galaxy TAB 3.8.0 is a wonderful yet powerful device which comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean (upgradable to 4.4.2 KitKat) and has many useful features. It boasts a 8 inch WXGA TFT display, 1.5 GHz Samsung Exynos 4212 Dual SoC processor and a 1.5 GB RAM. It also features a 1.3 MP front camera without flash and 5.0 MP AF rear-facing camera. It also has the ability to record HD videos.
This article will guide you through the steps of rooting the Samsung Galaxy tab 3.8.0. No more chit-chat, let us root something!!
You will need the following tools in order to root your device
Download these files and them on your desktop or somewhere else in your PC.This guide assumes that you have the drivers for your device preinstalled on your pc.Otherwise install Samsung KIES from the disk you received along with the Tab.
Before you start :
- First make sure that battery level is atleast 60%
- Now time to put your device into download mode.
- Turn off your device completely
- Now press volume down button + power button + home button
- Press until you reach a warning screen and then choose continue anyway
Follow the steps to root your device:
- Extract Odin-V3.09.zip and run the .exe file you will get after the extraction
- On running you will get a window like below:

- Now plug in your device to your PC and when you receive ADDED message click on the AP tab and select the TWRP_T31x_r3.tar file.
- Click on start and wait till you get the pass message.Don’t worry you are half way there!
- Power Off the device. Now boot into recovery by pressing and holding the Power + Volume Up buttons. When you see the Galaxy Tab 3 splash screen, let go of the Power button but continue to hold or press the Volume Up button. Once you get to the TWRP recovery, take your fingers off the Volume button.
- Copy the ROOT_SGT3.zip you downloaded above to your internal/external SD card.
- Tap on Install.
- Navigate to the location of ROOT_SGT3.zip and select it.
- Swipe to confirm the flash.
- Go back to the main menu, tap on Reboot and then tap on System.
Check whether you have an app named superuser after rebooting.
YOUR TAB IS NOW ROOTED…CONGRATULATIONS!! :D
