How to Factory Reset the Samsung Galaxy S5


    The Samsung Galaxy S5 is the most recent version in the Samsung Galaxy series and is one of the best smartphones in the world. Doing a factory reset can increase the performance of the smartphone. Downloading apps, browsing the internet etc. can cause junk to accumulate in the phone and factory reset can clear all these unwanted junk from your Samsung galaxy S5. There are three ways in which you can factory reset the Samsung galaxy S5.

    The first and foremost thing to do before a data wipe is to back up your smartphone. Factory resetting wipes your entire phone, so better backup before proceeding to factory reset. You can choose the Backup and Restore option from the Settings menu to backup app data and other relevant information to Google’s server. Else you could also use apps like Titanium backup to backup data. After performing a backup, you can choose any of the three methods mentioned below to perform Factory Reset.



Method 1 : Using the keypad


    Just dial this code into the dialer to perform instant Factory Reset. Just copy this code into your dialer *2767*3855#. Wait for your phone to be wiped.

Method 2 : From Settings menu


    This is also another easy way. Just go to the Backup and Restore option from the Setting menu. In the Backup and Restore menu find and tap Factory Reset and after confirming that you want to do the data wipe, your phone will be wiped.



Method 3: Using the S5 buttons


    First of all, turn the Galaxy S5 off. Then press and hold the Home button, Power button, Volume up button all at the same time until you see something on the screen. You are now brought to the Recovery menu. Use the volume button to scroll and select “Wipe cache partition” using power button. After the wipe has been completed, scroll down to the Factory Reset option and select it using the power button. After confirming your actions, the Factory Reset will begin. After the data wipe is complete, you can choose “reboot system now”.

    This is how you can Factory Reset your Samsung Galaxy S5. After performing the data wipe, you can restore your backed up information and your phone is good to go.
