Whatsapp Web : Use Whatsapp through your Computer

   

    Whatsapp is one of the most popular messaging apps available today. Whatsapp, which was acquired by Facebook recently, can finally be accessed through desktops or laptops. So now you can use your Whatsapp profile not only through your smartphone but also through your computer.

 
    To use Whatsapp web, just head on to this site. Whatsapp Web can be used by users who have a smartphone running Android, BlackBerry, Nokia S60 or Windows Phone. Whatsapp Web won’t work with iPhones! And you need Chrome or Opera browser to use the Whatsapp Web service.

    Whatsapp Web is very easy to use. You’ll need to have the latest version of Whatsapp installed on your smartphone. If you do not have the latest version, update Whatsapp. After updating, just go to the Whatsapp Web website from Google Chrome browser. Then open up your Whatsapp app from your phone and select Whatsapp Web from the menu. A QR code reader pops up. Then all you have to do is just scan the QR code which is displayed on the Whatsapp Web website. After scanning is done, it will sync with your smartphone and you are good to go.

    There are many advantages to using Whatsapp from your computer. First of all you can type messages from an actual keyboard, which is (to some) a breeze when compared to the keyboard in your smartphone. You can download media directly to your computer. You can also share media and also use your webcam. You can also start new conversations, make group chats, view contact details, etc.  You can connect multiple computers to your phone as well as disconnect any from your phone.

    There are many demerits as well. You cannot start a new group or leave a group from Whatsapp Web. The keyboard doesn’t have an Emoji section, but you can add Emojis available in the website. You won’t be able to share contacts or maps. Nor can you block users or change your profile pic or status. Even though you can connect multiple browsers to your phone, you can’t use two browsers at the same time.

    This is a job well done by Whatsapp. Now we can finally access Whatsapp from our computers and chat using the keyboard. This is just the beginning and the Whatsapp team will definitely try to make the Whatsapp Web experience better.
