Over the years, we have seen many social websites joining the e-commerce industry and Twitter finally decides that it is their time too. So they introduced a ‘Buy’ button on their social website which will allow you to buy stuff directly from Twitter. This initiative was put into action from September 8 2014 and Twitter hopes to make shopping via the web more convenient, easy and fun.
Twitter hopes to make this experiment with e-commerce a grand success. With a few taps from the Twitter app for Android and iOS you can purchase items that are for sale directly from Twitter and after you enter your shipping and payment details, the concerned merchant will deliver the goods.
Of course, the information you give to Twitter is completely secure and also the details are safely stored after the first transaction so that you do not have to enter all the details once again for later purchases. And also if you do not want Twitter to hold on to your information, you can always delete the information from your account.
For now, Twitter has introduced the Buy button only in the United States. Twitter has partnered with Fancy (@fancy), Gumroad (@gumroad), Musictoday (@Musictoday) and Stripe (@stripe) as platforms for this test. Twitter started the experimentation with a group of artists, brands, and nonprofit organizations like Eminem (@eminem), Paramore (@paramore), Brad Paisly (@bradpaisly), Demi Lovato (@ddlovato), DonorsChoose (@DonorsChoose), The Home Depot (@HomeDepot), and many more. Follow them to know about the products available. A wide range of goods varying from shoes to albums is expected to be put up for sale.
