Facebook at the F8 conference revealed a new service to be set in action soon, called App Links. App Links provide deep linking with apps. This service will put the mobile browsers out of action. When users click on links within apps, the link is opened by mobile browsers, after which they must enter their login id and password again before being redirected to their desired locations, and Facebook created App Links as a way around that.
App links is an open, cross platform solution for app to app linking. It will allow your apps to deep lining and link with other apps as well.

Clinking on a link you received in a messenger app, will route you to the link through the mobile browser. Facebook through App links wants to change this so that the link will be opened by the app you are using. For example, you receive a link of an image which is located at Instagram in your messenger app and you click on it, then link will be opened via the Instagram and not via the mobile browser.
Some mobile browsers may not be able to support all the content of the page, but if the link can be opened by the same app, then there will be no such difficulty.
App Links supports iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. And will be made to support other platforms too. With the introduction of App Links, surfing through mobiles phones will be simpler.
App-to-app linking otherwise called mobile deep linking is not a new thing. Facebook hopes to increase its adoption. Developers do not burn their heads too much on the topic as deep linking is not the same for android, iOS and Window. Facebook is introducing App Links to solve this problem and also to make cross platform compatible.
