Newsbeat : Personalized News Reader App

Newsbeat : Personalized News Reader App

Today there are many apps that read out news but the Newsbeat app released by Tribune Digital Ventures stands at the top. This amazing app gets newspaper articles from different newspapers and news websites and an audio output is given. So that you don’t have to trouble yourself by reading the news when you are in a hurry.

The major news articles that have higher user ratings have the voice of a real person and the rest are recorded with the help of text-to-speech technology. Newsbeat gives you a radio like experience and you can use it when you are on the go (like when you are on the bus or train or when you don’t have access to other media sources). One could say that this is an approach to save paper and reducing the paper media.

This app is currently available for both iPhones as well as Android devices free of cost. The newsfeed can be modified according to the user’s preferences. You can select from which all sources (mostly American news sources) you would like to get news from, you can select the category, it gives the weather report, traffic report, and so on.
When you are playing an article you can pause it, stop, play again, and also get the same news from different sources by tapping the ‘more sources’ option. Also by tapping the ‘add related’ you will get a list of news which are related to one you were currently reading.

This amazing app will surely find its way to those people’s smartphones who are commuters or don’t like to read the news much or people who would like to replace paper to save trees. This app is a really good app having a lot of potential and plenty of room for improvement.
