How to force quit an app in Apple Watch

Have you ever wondered if just stopping an app in the Apple Watch will actually quit the app? It closes the app but no, it does not quit the app. It still continues to run in the background. There is a simple way by which you can force quit any app that you want to close. You will want to know this trick because situations may arise when an app stops responding where the only solutions are rebooting the Apple watch or force quitting the app that is not responding. I will guide you through the steps to force quit an app. It’s quite simple and needs just a few seconds of your time.

      1.       What you have to know beforehand is that there is no feature in the Apple Watch to know which apps are open. So you will have to open the app so that you can close it (I know this sounds a bit crazy). More precisely, what you have to do is open an app that you previously opened that you didn’t quit.

If its a not-responding case, go to step 2 to continue with force quitting procedure.

      2.       Now all you need to do is to press and hold the side button for a few seconds. The Power off menu will appear where you can Power Off or Power Reserve or lock your device.

      3.       Again do a press-and-hold process and you will see your app appear and disappear on the screen and gets replaced by the home screen.

This is how you force quit an app. But if you have an app in Glances, you will need to go to Glances to close it. An app glance in Glances can also drain your battery. So, if you wish to close an app glance from Glances browse over to My Watch -> Glances and tap on the red circle beside an app that you want to close and tap Remove. This will remove the app from Glance.

You have just learnt how to force quit an app in the Apple Watch. You can now easily quit battery draining apps and non-responding apps with a few press-and-holds and a few taps. I hope you found this information useful.
