New Facebook App “Rooms” allows Anonymous Chat

“Rooms”, the latest app released by Facebook allows you to chat anonymously like the old internet relay chat (IRC) systems. Only the iOS version of the app is available today and you can get it from the Apple App Store.

“Rooms lets you create places for the things you’re into, and invite others who are into them too”. Josh Miller, Facebook Product Manager said through a blog post

You can either create or join a Room. A Room is general concentrated on a specific interest like an event or a place or a sport or a hobby or any other topic. After creating a group you can enter the description and customize the settings according to what type of Room you wish to install. For others to join the group, A QR code is generated by the app, which you can send it to people you think will want to join. You can also share the QR code publicly.

“One of the magical things about the early days of the web was connecting to people who you would never encounter otherwise in your daily life. Forums, message boards and chat rooms were meeting places for people who didn’t necessarily share geographies or social connections, but had something in common”, Miller said.

The main feature of this app is that in each room you can have different names. That’s right; you can be the Batman or James Bond or Black Widow or anybody you want to be. You can be yourself too of course. “One name for one Room”, which is pretty awesome. A room will have photos, texts, videos related to the topic of the room.

The aim of Rooms is to bring back the magical feel of the internet where you could be anybody and have discussions with people with shared interests. Currently only the iOS version is available and the Android version is expected to release in the beginning of 2015.

  2. This app won't protect your privacy, if someone installed Android Spy application. It's undetectable!
