iPhone X : The Next Generation iPhone

iPhone X is the newest addition to the iPhone series. The new iPhone X, which was unveiled on Tuesday (12 September) flaunts many new features making it the best iPhone there is. Apart from the new features, it also flaunts a price tag of $1000, which is an all-time high for an iPhone. Apple believe that the iPhone X would revolutionize the smartphone industry.

The main attraction of the iPhone X is the edge-to-edge display, which covers the entire front panel of the device. This is a first time for an iPhone, but the concept of infinite display has already been introduced by Xiaomi and Samsung. The 5.8 –inch OLED display, called the Super Retina screen is damn gorgeous, showcasing vibrant colours and a rich display. Apple has made the OLED display tackling problems faced by other OLED devices. The Super Retina display supports 2436×1125 resolution, Dolby Vision and HDR10. The traditional home button is no more, and you just need a simple swipe to take you to the home screen.

Another cool feature is the Face ID. Without the home button available to unlock the device, iPhone X uses Face ID to enable users to unlock the device using facial recognition. It uses a TrueDepth camera system which works even in the dark. Imagine that! Technology has gone a long way. For using Apple Pay, you have to face the display for the camera to scan your face, and make the payment possible. In addition to this, Apple has also added software protections against people stealing your phone. You have to stare at the phone to unlock the display, so nobody can force the phone onto your face to unlock the device. Also, gripping both the buttons on both the edges, disables Face ID temporarily. Face ID works even if you have sunglasses on your face.

The iPhone X boasts a very elegant design with curved edges and round corners. It is also encased in the most durable glass ever in a smartphone. It is made of surgical-grade stainless steel and is available in two variants: space-grey and silver. It is dust and water resistant as well. It supports wireless charging as well.

The cameras are top notch! The rear camera sports a 12-megapixel sensor with dual-lenses at f1.8 and f2.4 apertures along with dual-image OIS quad-LED TrueTone flash. Apple introduced a new feature called Portrait Lighting, which enables the user to select the lighting effects.  Video has also improved, and can be captured at 60FPS in low-light mode, with faster frame rate support and 4K capture. Slow motion videos captured in 1080p will have 240 FPS.

iPhone X introduces the A11 Bionic, the most powerful and smartest chip ever in a smartphone, with a neural engine that’s capable of up to 600 billion operations per second which is very fast.  iPhone X is one of the best smartphones available in the market. With all its attractive features and specs, the iPhone X is the most expensive iPhone ever but worth all the money for sure.
