Blackberry is back with a new smartphone, the Blackberry Passport. It has been a while since Blackberry released a good smartphone and now they have finally decided to show their newest product, the BlackBerry Passport. And after unveiling it to the world, it is now available in the Indian market for Rs.49,990. Although the phone will only reach the retailers on the 10th of October, you can pre-order the phone through Amazon or through BlackBerry Exclusive stores. Pre-ordering through Amazon can get you gift voucher worth Rs.5000 and also Jet Airways discounts.
The phone has a different look than the usual BB smartphones. With a large, square screen (1440 x 1440 pixels, 4.5 inches (~453 ppi pixel density)) and a three row keyboard, the BlackBerry Passport has a very neat look. The amazing feature about the phone is its keyboard. Not only can you type on the QWERTY keyboard, but also use it as a touchpad. The build of the phone is pretty solid and the phone feels very good to hold. The phone will also be featuring the new BlackBerry OS 10.3. The screen is running at a resolution of 1440X1440 pixels. At the rear there's a 13-megapixel camera which is pretty good to take photos and videos with and at the front there’s a 2MP front camera. And also the phone has a Quad-Core CPUs (MSM8974-AA) processor which is clocked in at 2.2GHz along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space. The phone also has features like 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, etc.
It was high time for Blackberry to remind the world that it was still alive and through this phone they might just get back on top of the smartphone industry again. Even though the price of the Passport is a bit too high, the phone is worth checking out.
